Take A Look At My Office

I am so excited for you to see today's post because I am sharing a look at my office with you! It occurred to me that most of my posts have been fashion/beauty related, and while those things are important to me, so is my career! I am the Controller/Office Manager of our family construction business and spend the majority of my day dedicated to our Company. Personally I have always loved business and I think it's SO important for women to get involved in business. I think that women make great leaders & decision makers. Obviously the construction business is predominately male, so I really enjoy the opportunity to work with other women - whether it be our tax accountant, banker, insurance rep, you name it. I have a Masters Degree in Accounting and am also a licensed CPA. Accounting is such a versatile degree, and I love that I get to use my previous work experience to now focus on our business. I absolutely HATE being put into a box or labeled as to what a woman "should" or "shouldn't" be/wear/do/think/speak/feel. Business doesn't have to be boring & we should be able to wear stilettos, eyelashes, listen to rap music, and be a girl boss without being judged! #workit

Now more about the fun stuff - office decor! :-)

I believe that your office should be a reflection of you, and that you should surround yourself with things that you love when you are working. When we got our new office space, it was a boring beige color and the floor was a disgusting carpet. I immediately painted it with 2 coats of Sherwin Williams Alpaca & ripped up the carpet! I was inspired by Caroline Stanbury's office space (#goals), and actually used a picture of her office and totally tried to re-create it on a budget. Old Town Construction Services did an awesome job helping me achieve the look that I wanted! I hate clutter so I always keep my workspace clean. This office is where I spend lots of my time, so personally I want it to be as beautiful as possible! That keeps me motivated and productive. One of my favorite places for office decor & organization tools is Target. Not only is it affordable, but they have trendy, modern pieces that are very functional. I also usually pick up fresh flowers every Monday from Publix. We are in the process of renovating/decorating the rest of the office space, and I can't wait to share that with you as well. Hopefully it will be done in about 2 weeks. I've tried to link all products at the end of the post.

Let me know what your thoughts are and if you have any questions! xoxo, Meredith
