Skin care is something that is very important to me. I think that a good preventative skin care routine is so much more effective the earlier you start! I enjoy trying new products & believe that good products are worth the investment. I am really loving Kiehl's right now. Their packaging is simplistically perfect. I know a lot of us resort to drugstore products because they are cheaper, but you need to use caution & pay attention to the ingredients used.
My skin is oily and I break out from time to time, especially if I'm stressed. Everyone's skin is different - but below is the routine that's working for me right now. Let me know what you think & if you have any questions! Everything is linked below!
1. Cleanser // - Kiehl's Calendula Deep Cleansing Foaming Face Wash
2. Toner // - Kiehl's Blue Astrigent Herbal Lotion
This toner is amazing... I've never used anything like it before. It works great as as after-shave treatment as well..... plan on sharing it with your partner!
3. Eye Cream // - Rodan + Fields Multi-Function Eye Cream
4. (AM) SPF + Moisturizer // Kiehl's Ultra Facial Moisturizer Sunscreen
I think this Moisturizer/SPF combo is a great value for the amount that you are getting. I apply it to my face, neck & chest religiously every morning. No country club chest here, guys.
4. (PM) Retinol Treatment // Dr. Dennis Gross Ferulic Acid + Retinol Brightening Solution
I think retinol is the best thing you can put on your face to help with wrinkles and anti-aging. This stuff is bomb. It's a professional strength serum that delivers firmer, smoother, and brighter skin, targets fine lines and wrinkles, and evens skintone.
5. (PM) Night Cream // Kiehl's Ultra Facial Oil-Free Gel Cream
What I love about this is that the gel cream is great for oily skin, and it doesn't feel thick, heavy or sticky. Absorbs nicely. I always wait a few minutes after applying the retinol serum above before I apply this cream. I give everything enough time to sink in.
6. Lips // Lush Mint Julips Lip Scrub + Honey Trap Lip Balm
My lips are on the dry side, so this lip scrub & lip balm combo from Lush is just right.
This Lush face & body scrub is so good. It smells incredible... plus it is safe enough to use on your face as well as body. This is a great pre self-tan exfoliator as well. I like to use this 1-2 times a week in the shower.
Deep Pore Cleansing// Indian Healing Clay + Apple Cider Vinegar
Maybe once a month I feel that my skin look like shit. So this is one of the cheapest & most effective masks you can use. Mix this clay with apple cider vinegar (get a good quality one) and let this dry on your skin for around 20 minutes. It gets so tight that it is actually kind of scary the first time you take it off. Just make sure to wet a rag with very warm water and soak it on your face before you buff the mask off.
At-Home Peel// Ole Henriksen Power Peel
This microdermabrasion/AHA 3-step peel is a little pricey, I may do this once a month when my skin looks dull. It is amazing. Definitely worth it, and way cheaper than getting a peel done at the spa. Step 1 is an Almond Polish that exfoliates. Step 2 is the Lemon Strip that dissolves dead skin cells & brightens skin. Step 3 is the Chamomile Comfort that soothes & calms the skin after the exfoliation treatment. Major key alert.
